DIRAC launches the “Translating Chile” platform, the new official website to take our literature to the world

The Division of Cultures, Arts, Heritage, and Public Diplomacy (DIRAC) announces the launch of “Translating Chile,” a new digital platform that gathers key information about the translation of Chilean literature into other languages and channels applications to the translation grant for foreign publishers that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has promoted since 2017.

This milestone comes exactly two years before Chile will be the Guest of Honor Country at the Frankfurt Book Fair 2027, one of the most important showcases in the publishing world.

This new website was created by DIRAC as a tool of cultural and public diplomacy, aimed at strengthening the international presence of our authors by facilitating applications to the “Translating Chile” translation grant, as well as providing relevant information for publishers, translators, and literary agents interested in publishing Chilean literature in other languages.

Additionally, DIRAC is working on opening the annual public call for proposals “Translating Chile 2026,” scheduled for November. This initiative is one of the strategic pillars on the road to Frankfurt 2027.
